What challenge did Sofology face?

As part of their digital transformation strategy, Sofology rolled out Hullabalook’s Room Creator technology as an inspiration tool to give shoppers the freedom to design an entire space they love. ‘Create Your Look’ – powered by Hullabalook – keeps shoppers on site for longer, encourages them to revisit and ultimately, drives revenue.

Sofology’s main challenge was increasing the visibility of their growing product ranges and inspiring customers to shop across multiple categories online.

Sofology has a huge product catalogue, so they needed a tool which would make the discovery process simple, while also providing an inspirational customer experience. They use a lot of lifestyle imagery to help their shoppers visualise products, but this imagery is static. 

How does Hullabalook’s technology meet these challenges?

'Create Your Look' – built on Room Creator technology – was the perfect tool for Sofology's site. It can be completely personalised, so customers can design spaces and visualise products they love in a setting that reflects their own home. Plus it’s fun, easy to use, and most importantly, drives revenue.

Hullabalook’s Room Creator takes retailer’s product catalogue and converts it into 2D “stickers” that are scaled – so that large items like sofas look proportionally bigger than smaller items like vases. Shoppers can then move these product stickers around in a room setting, experimenting with how products look together and building their dream rooms. Shoppers who use the Room Creator can toggle between product categories and play around with endless combinations, giving them an easy, engaging way to visualise products together - they can also change the wall and floor colours to really personalise their results. They can save or share their creation to revisit it later if needed, and in just one click they can add all of the products to their basket. 

Hullabalook's Room Creator tool increases cross-category shopping, purchase confidence and provides a more engaging experience which in turn, increases time spent on retailers' sites. 

Shoppers often find it hard to visualise furniture online, but Create Your Look solves this problem for us. Using the tool, customers can explore our products and visualise how they will look in their own home. Create Your Look has driven amazing results for us - more customers are staying on the site for longer and return to site more often. It’s also proven to be a great customer services tool for our Sofologists. Our customers love it and it’s driving revenue. We couldn’t be happier with its performance.
