What challenges did fonQ face?

fonQ’s main challenge was making their products more discoverable and encouraging cross-category shopping. fonQ wanted to achieve their vision quickly, but didn’t have the technological resources internally to create an interactive product discovery experience that would drive sales. Most importantly they wanted;

  • A solution that encouraged multiple purchases.
  • A low barrier to entry experience that was easy and fun to use.
  • A solution that could be implemented quickly, without major involvement from internal teams.

How does Hullabalook’s technology meet these challenges?

Hullabalook’s Room Creator technology – which fonQ's Styling Tool is built upon – takes retailer’s product catalogue and converts it into 2D 'stickers' that are scaled to size – so large items like sofas look much bigger than smaller items like vases. Shoppers can then move these product stickers around in a room setting, experimenting with how products look together and building their dream rooms.

Shoppers who use the Room Creator can toggle between product categories and play around with endless combinations, giving them an easy, engaging way to visualise products together. They can also change the wall and floor colours to really personalise their results and in one click they can share the room they have created, and add all of the products to the basket.

We wanted to inspire our shoppers with an interactive solution that was easy to use. Hullabalook's technology was the answer. By implementing the Styling Tool, our shoppers aren't just looking at more products, they're buying more. Styling Tool is essential for driving revenue, so much so we're now rolling it out across more categories and to our sister sites.
